Agnes Mason Widening Participation Outreach Officer

Agnes is part of the Outreach Programmes Team with special responsibility for Pathway to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ.

Role

Her main responsibility is overseeing the Pathway to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ programme, a blended programme for Year 12 students supporting their academic skills and leading to a guaranteed conditional offer at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ. She also supports the successful running of Target Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, the Teacher's programme, Ask Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ and Apply with Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ.

Career

Agnes joined the University in 2015 after a career in teaching languages and BTEC courses at secondary schools and Sixth Form colleges. She has experience of teaching German, Spanish, French, BTEC Business and BTEC Public Services to Years 7-13 and taught Spanish A level at a Sixth Form College, where she gained valuable experience in language outreach.

Education

Agnes holds a degree in Politics, English and Spanish from the University of Tübingen, Germany, as well as a German teacher training qualification in English, Spanish and Citizenship.

She spent a year as a language assistant at a secondary school in Blackpool as part of her degree. After qualifying in Germany, she moved to the UK permanently in 2007. She holds Qualified Teacher Status and has undertaken a variety of training as part of her teaching career.
